RAIL, TRANSIT & INTERMODAL
For seven decades, Yonkers Contracting Company has built, expanded and rehabilitated transportation infrastructure throughout the northeast. Yonkers understands that working on rail, transit, and intermodal facilities requires a sensitivity to: maintaining revenue service, minimizing interruption or inconvenience to passengers, working safely in tight quarters and secure areas; and coordinating with a wide variety of stakeholders.
Over the years Yonkers has completed projects working for and coordinating with the region’s commuter railroads, transit agencies, freight railroads, high-speed passenger rail roads and monorail operators. Yonkers has a tenured history of — reconstructing major stations, railroad bridges, and constructed a wide range of other facilities including rail tunnels and freight yards.
Depth of experience in working on and around active railways provides Yonkers the knowledge, and proven performance in scheduling work around rail operations, flagging and outage constraints, performing heavy civil construction (including rigging of equipment and installation of structural steel and concrete), and scheduling work to maximize use of night-time closures and 52-hr weekends.
